Semitron MP 370 material is used in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, providing more options for the design and manufacture of precision test sockets. Semitron MP 370 not only has the inherent excellent moisture absorption and high temperature resistance of PEEK, but also has higher strength and dimensional stability. Because of the superior machinability of this custom formulated material, finer and cleaner machining is possible.

· Low internal stress and no 'soft core' of molded parts
Semitron MDS 100
Semitron MDS 100 has an excellent combination of strength, stiffness and stability properties. It was developed for use in uncontrolled or high precision applications. Semitron MDS 100 is ideal for semiconductor test sockets, nests, fixtures and packaging equipment.
· Only 0.10% moisture absorption in 24 hours (ASTM D570)
· Temperature resistance up to 210°C

Antistatic polyoxymethylene POM
Semitron ESd 225
Semitron ESd 225 is ideal for jigs used in hard disk drive manufacturing; it is also ideal for silicon wafer processing operations. It is brown in color.
· Surface resistivity: 1010 - 1012 ohms/sq.
· Temperature resistance up to 107°C
· Good wear resistance

Antistatic PEI
Semitron ESd 410C
The Semitron ESd 410C is used in the die inspection process to manipulate the die through the inspection equipment. It is black in color and opaque.

Semitron ESd 420
Semitron ESd 420 is the only truly antistatic plastic that can be used in high temperature environments.

· Good thermal performance
Semitron ESd 420V
Semitron ESd 420V has a surface resistivity of 106 - 109 ohms/sq. It is a hard, high-strength material that does not change dimensions when exposed to moisture. Semitron ESd 420V is a cost-effective alternative when the thermal performance requirements are not super high.
Antistatic PEEK
Semitron ESd 480
This antistatic PEEK has a surface resistivity of 106 - 109 ohms/sq. The very high dimensional stability of Semitron ESd 480 makes it an ideal material for critical test fixtures. Its excellent chemical resistance makes it ideal for use as a structural part of wafer handling and wet process tools where static dissipation is important. As a Quadrant Semitron ESd material, Semitron ESd480 is susceptible to dielectric breakdown. (See notes on this page.)
Semitron ESd 490HR
A slightly higher resistivity PEEK material with similar physical properties to Semitron ESd 480.

Antistatic PTFE
Semitron ESd 500HR
Reinforced with a proprietary synthetic mica, Semitron ESd 500HR offers excellent low friction characteristics and dimensional stability. Where PTFE is used, Semitron ESd 500HR can be considered. It is ideal for controlling static discharges. The color is white.

Antistatic PAI
Semitron ESd 520HR
Semitron ESd 520HR is the industry's first material to combine electrostatic dissipative (ESd), high strength and heat resistance. This new ESd material is used in test equipment and is ideal for machining nests, sockets and contacts, as well as for other component handling parts. The 520HR is resistant to dielectric breakdown at high voltages (>100V), which is its unique and key feature. The diagram below presents the electrical properties of plastic materials typically used in automated test sorters. Exposure to even moderate voltages irreversibly increases the electrical conductivity of conventional carbon fiber-reinforced products.
Where the mechanical properties are adequate, only the Semitron ESd 520HR is able to maintain its electrical properties over the entire voltage range.

Applications;
IC component test fixture
Due to its combination of electrostatic dissipation (ESD) and high mechanical strength, a test fixture manufacturer recently used the Semitron ESd 520HR for processing integrated circuit test heads. The high mechanical strength of the Semitron ESd 520HR increases the life of the test head and increases the number of test units per hour.
The Semitron ESd 520HR is the first to meet the requirements for antistatic properties and all mechanical properties and is therefore very reliable when used for testing nests, sockets and contacts. Its antistatic properties (surface resistivity 1010 to 1012 ohms/sq.) are sufficient to minimize the risk of leakage. It is also extremely important that Semitron ESd 520HR maintains its resistivity at voltages above 100 volts.
