What is TECAPEEK CF30 black CARBON FILLED PEEK ?
PEEK CF 30 is a 30% carbon filled PEEK material that is manufactured by Ensinger under the tradename TECAPEEK CF30 black. Its carbon fibre reinforcement lends the material a high level of rigidity and creep strength. Carbon fibre reinforced PEEK demonstrates very high mechanical strength values, while exhibiting lower density than 30% glass fibre filled peek. Furthermore, carbon fibre composites tend to be less abrasive than glass fibres while simultaneously resulting in improved wear and friction properties. The addition of carbon fibres also ensures a significantly higher level of heat conductivity which is also beneficial for increasing part life in sliding applications. Carbon filled PEEK has also an excellent resistance to hydrolysis in boiling water and superheated steam.
Due to its exceptional properties, TECAPEEK CF30 black is utilized in many of the most critical areas in general industry, as well as in the automotive, marine, nuclear, down hole oil well, electronics, and aerospace fields. TECAPEEK CF30 black is also available in a version suitable for medical applications (TECAPEEK MT CF30 black).
As with all Ensinger PEEK materials, we can confirm that carbon reinforced TECAPEEK CF30 black meets the limitations imposed by RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electrical equipment.

What are the modifications of HONYPLAS® for PEEK?
1. Carbon fiber-filled PEEK
HONYPLAS® PEEK CF30% with 30% carbon fiber filler has long been a HONY Plastic staple. HONY's PEEK CF30% is formulated with 30% carbon fiber reinforcement to achieve the highest mechanical strength and stiffness of any PEEK grade. Moreover, PEEK CF30% is unaffected by repeated autoclave cycles and is resistant to a wide range of chemicals. It also meets FDA requirements for direct food contact applications and meets the aerospace industry's stringent flammability and low-smoke requirements, with a flame retardancy rating of UL 94 V-0. It has the abrasion and heat resistance of PEEK, and can withstand prolonged exposure to steam, hot water, and a wide range of chemicals. In particular, it excels as a bearing material when operating on hard mating surfaces, and the material is often used for precision machined parts. It has the highest strength and stiffness of any PEEK grade. It is 7% lighter than glass-reinforced grades, despite containing more reinforcement per unit volume. It is an excellent choice for high-load machined or molded parts.
2. Glass-fiber-filled PEEK
PEEK GF30% with 30% glass fiber filler is a 30% increase in glass fiber reinforcement, providing a significant increase in strength and stiffness over unreinforced PEEK grades. The glass fiber content also improves structural performance in applications where, with proper design and sealing, service temperatures may well exceed the glass transition temperature of PEEK. HONYPLAS® PEEK GF30% is well suited to meet the flammability and smoke generation requirements of aircraft and combines the high strength of PEEK and glass with the inherent chemical resistance typically found in HONYPLAS® PEEK GF30%. inherent chemical resistance, and is commonly used in machined insulators and oil and gas applications where chemical resistance and high-temperature strength are required. Provides higher strength and stiffness than unfilled PEEK grades, yet has excellent electrical and thermal insulation properties. It is an excellent choice for high-load machined or molded parts, including backup seals and electrical connector bodies.
3. PEEK with Carbon Fiber, Graphite, PTEE
PEEK FC30 with 10% graphite, 10% carbon fiber and 10% PTFE powder is the most common combination, where it promotes low friction and higher electrical conductivity for higher PV and lower wear rates. This advanced thermoplastic is used exclusively in everything from reusable medical devices to bushings and bearings for helicopter parts, and is unaffected by repeated autoclaving. It meets FDA requirements for direct food contact components and also fulfills aerospace industry requirements for flammability and smoke generation. Components machined from HONY plastic's PEEK FC30 profile are used in oil and gas, aerospace, semiconductor manufacturing and many other high-tech, demanding service industries.
