TECAMID--Ensinger extruded nylon product introduction

TECAMID PA12

PA material, commonly called nylon, can also be called polyamide. Thanks to its good balance between performance and cost, PA material is an ideal material to replace metal in many industrial applications. The models of nylon plastics are often represented by numbers, which are related to the molecular structure of nylon plastics, and each structure type has different properties. The most commonly used extruded polyamide grades are TECAMID 6, TECAMID 66 and TECAMID 12. Its typical applications include: gears, sliding pads, support bars, chain guides, and more.

In general, nylon is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic with low density and high thermal stability. Polyamides are among the most important and useful technical thermoplastics due to their excellent wear resistance, good coefficient of friction and very good temperature and impact resistance. Furthermore, polyamide (nylon) exhibits very good chemical resistance and is a particularly oil-resistant plastic. However, nylon plastic has certain hygroscopicity, so its dimensional stability is weaker than other engineering plastics. From the hard and tough Pa66 material to the soft and flexible PA12 material, different series of polyamides have different properties.
As two completely different production methods, extrusion molding and casting molding nylon products have obvious differences in size and specification. Extrusion processes typically produce small-sized, high-volume sheets, rods and tubes, and casting processes typically produce large semi-manufactured products in small quantities and with low levels of internal stress. In Ensinger, the grade corresponding to extruded nylon is TECAMID, and the grade corresponding to cast nylon is TECAST
