Techtron HPV PPS Cylindrical Rod
Among them, QEPP's Techtron PPS is the industry standard material for retaining rings used in chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) operations. The CMP process uses abrasive chemically active slurries to flatten the microtopography of partially processed wafers so that subsequent processes can start from a flat surface. PPS retaining rings keep the wafer in place during the CMP process, the wafer is repeatedly exposed to abrasive chemicals and stress and needs to be replaced periodically.

Retaining rings made from Techtron PPS provide tight dimensional control, excellent chemical resistance, high strength, and good abrasion resistance to slurries, thereby minimizing consumable costs for CMP equipment users.

Techtron PPS material is available in stock shapes. It has excellent dimensional stability and low residual stress, enabling it to be machined very flat with very tight tolerances. Most importantly, however, it does not flake, which means it produces no noticeable particulates in abrasive handling applications.

QEPP's machinable plastics are commonly used fixtures in many processes and tools used to manufacture semiconductor devices. Through partnerships with equipment manufacturers, Quadrant has developed a variety of plastic materials and blank shapes that deliver the performance qualities critical to semiconductor device manufacturing. These qualities include controlled static dissipation, low coefficient of expansion, high strength, and thermal and chemical resistance. In addition, Quadrant's blank shapes for machining are made of non-flaking plastic, ideal for fixtures that handle wafers and semiconductor devices, as well as components used in hard drive manufacturing and assembly processes.
