PEEK's Excellent Properties in Detail

Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK resin) is a high-temperature thermoplastic with a high glass transition temperature (143°C) and melting point (334°C), and a load thermal transformation temperature of up to 316°C (30% glass fiber or carbon fiber reinforced grades), which can be used for long periods at 250°C. Compared with other high-temperature resistant plastics such as PI, PPS, PTFE, PPO, etc., the upper limit of use temperature is nearly 50°C higher, PPS, PTFE, PPO, etc., compared to other high-temperature-resistant plastics such as PI, PTFE, PPO, the upper limit of the use of temperature is nearly 50 ℃;

PEEK resin not only has excellent heat resistance than other high temperature resistant plastics, but also has high strength, high modulus, high fracture toughness and excellent dimensional stability;

PEEK resin can maintain high strength at high temperatures; it has a bending strength of about 24 MPa at 200°C, and still has a bending strength and compression strength of 12 to 13 MPa at 250°C;

PEEK resin has greater rigidity, better dimensional stability and a smaller coefficient of linear expansion, very close to that of metallic aluminum materials;

excellent chemical resistance, in the usual chemicals, only concentrated sulfuric acid can dissolve or destroy it, its corrosion resistance is similar to that of nickel steel, while its own flame retardancy, the release of smoke and toxic gases in flame conditions less, strong resistance to radiation;

PEEK resin has good toughness, excellent fatigue resistance to alternating stress is the most outstanding of all plastics, comparable to alloy materials;;

outstanding tribological properties of PEEK resin with excellent resistance to sliding wear and micro-motion wear, especially the ability to maintain high wear resistance and low coefficient of friction at 250°C;

PEEK resins are easy to extrude and injection mold, with excellent processing properties and high molding efficiency.
