Difference Between PA6+GF30% And PA66+GF30%

August 03, 2024
Difference between Pa6+GF30% and Pa66+GF30%

PA6+GF30%.PA66+GF30%, are added 30% glass fiber (GF), the performance will be different, the price is also different, PA6+GF30% a kilogram of 65 yuan, PA66+GF30% a kilogram of 95 yuan.

The following are the main differences in performance:

Molecular structure:

PA6 is made by ring-opening polymerization of caprolactam, with low melting point and relatively low cost, while PA66 is made by polymerization of adipic acid and adipic acid, which is a kind of engineering plastics. The number of hydrogen bonding of PA66 is higher than that of PA6, and the molecular force is stronger than that of PA6, and the thermal properties of PA66 are better.

PA66 has better thermal properties and requires higher processing temperatures.

Heat resistance:

The melting point and heat resistance of PA66 is usually higher than that of PA6. PA6 has a melting point of about 220°C, while PA66 has a melting point of between 260 and 265°C. The melting point of PA66 is about 1,000°C. The melting point of PA66 is about 1,000°C. With the addition of 30% glass fiber, the temperature resistance of PA66 is further

improves and can reach 240°C, while the temperature resistance of PA6 improves to about 220°C .

Mechanical properties:

PA66 generally has higher hardness and rigidity, while PA6 has better toughness. With the addition of glass fibers, the mechanical strength, impact resistance and abrasion resistance of both materials are enhanced, but PA66's enhancement may be more significant.

The strengthening effect may be more significant with PA66.

Water absorption:

PA6 has a high water absorption rate, which may affect its dimensional stability. In contrast, PA66 has lower water absorption and is more stable in wet environments.

Processing:

The processing of PA6 and PA66 is different, especially in terms of drying and mold temperature; PA6 requires special attention to drying due to its high water absorption, while PA66 has relatively lax drying requirements.

Application areas:

PA6+GF30% is commonly used in the automotive industry. It is used for manufacturing structural parts, housings, connectors, etc. in the electrical and electronic industry, machinery industry and other fields. Add glass fiber to improve the material's tensile lightness, compressive strength and impact resistance.

Impact strength, has a higher heat distortion temperature, enhance the ability of the material's chemical corrosion resistance. Reduce the thermal expansion coefficient of the material, improve the dimensional stability, improve the wear resistance of the material, this material is widely used in applications requiring high mechanical properties and heat resistance.

This material is widely used in applications requiring high mechanical properties and heat resistance. Cost-sensitive requirements for heat resistance is not very high.

PA66+GF30%, commonly used in high-strength and heat-resistant applications, automotive components, electronic equipment shells, mechanical parts, reinforced PA66 plastic than pure PA66 has a higher heat resistance, chemical resistance and mechanical strength.

In summary, the choice between PA6+GF30% and PA66+GF30% depends on the specific application requirements, cost, chemical stability, heat resistance, mechanical properties and other factors.
