What is a Variseal?

Spring Seal (Spring Seal/ spring energized seal/ Variseal) is a high-performance seal with a special spring inside a U-shaped teflon seal, where the sealing lip (face) is pushed out by the appropriate spring force coupled with the fluid pressure of the system and gently pressed against the metal surface to be sealed to produce a very excellent sealing effect. The actuation effect of the spring can overcome the slight eccentricity of the metal mating surfaces and the abrasion of the sealing lip, and continue to maintain the expected sealing performance.

Teflon (PTFE) is a kind of chemical resistance than perfluoroelastomer excellent, heat-resistant sealing material, can be applied to most of the chemical fluids, solvents, and hydraulic oils, lubricants, its expansion is very small, so it can be a long time to play the sealing performance, the use of a variety of special springs to overcome the elasticity of the Teflon or other high-performance rubber plastics, the development of a replacement for the vast number of applications in static or dynamic (reciprocating or rotary motion). Rotary motion) seals, the use of temperature range from refrigerant to 300 ℃, pressure from vacuum to ultra-high-pressure force of 700kg moving speed of up to 20m / s, and the spring can be used in different environments, the choice of stainless steel, Elgiloy Hastelloy, etc., so that it can be applied to a variety of high-temperature corrosive fluids occasions.
The pan plug seal can be made according to AS568A standard O-ring groove (such as radial shaft seal, piston seal, axial face seal, etc.), completely replacing the general-purpose O-ring, due to the lack of expansion trouble, so it can be maintained for a long time with good sealing performance. For example, for mechanical shaft seals used in high temperature corrosive environments in petrochemical processes, the most common cause of leakage is not only uneven wear of the sliding ring, but also the deterioration and damage of the O-Ring. By changing to HiPerSeal, the problems of rubber softening, bulging, surface roughening, and wear can be completely eliminated, which will significantly increase the service life of mechanical shaft seals.
In addition to the high temperature and corrosive environments mentioned above, HiPerSeal has a low coefficient of friction of the sealing lip, stable sealing contact pressure, high pressure resistance, and tolerance for large radial run-out and groove size error, so it is very suitable for pneumatic cylinder seals, replacing the U-shaped or V-shaped compression to obtain excellent sealing performance and service life.

Advantages and areas of application of pan plug seals

Lipseal, also known as Lipseal, is a single-acting, spring-applied seal.

Operating temperature range: -253℃+300℃.

Flood plug using special polymer materials to do shell, embedded spring, corrosion-resistant media, wear-resistant long service life.

The performance and advantages of pan plug seal:

1. good sealing performance: the pan plug seal has good sealing performance, can effectively prevent the leakage of liquid or gas, to ensure the normal operation of the system.

2. High temperature and corrosion resistance: Flooded seals are usually made of high-quality rubber materials, with good high temperature and corrosion resistance, suitable for a variety of working conditions.

3. Simple structure and installation: Flooded seals have a simple structure and are easy to install, without the need for complicated tools and equipment.

4. Low cost: the manufacturing cost of the Flood Plug Seal is relatively low, which is suitable for mass production and wide application.

Flooded Seal application areas:

1. Automotive industry: Flooded seals are widely used in automobile engines, transmission systems, hydraulic systems and other parts to ensure the sealing effect of liquids and gases.

2. Mechanical industry: Flooded seals are widely used in various mechanical equipment, such as pumps, valves, pressure vessels, etc. 3.

3. Chemical industry: Flooded seals are used in chemical equipment and pipeline systems to ensure the sealing and transportation of chemicals.

4. Pharmaceutical industry: Flooded seals play an important sealing role in pharmaceutical equipment to ensure the quality and safety of drugs.

It should be noted that, the selection and application of flooded seals need to be based on specific working conditions and requirements, including temperature, pressure, media and other factors to consider. When using pan plug seals, they also need to be regularly checked and replaced to ensure their sealing performance and safety.

V-Spring Flood Plugs:

V-Spring Flood Plugs, can be used for static, reciprocating motion, rotary motion sealing rotary. The shape of the spring concentrates the load on the leading edge of the sealing lip, giving the seal a reliable wiping action. v-spring has a medium load and deformation range.

Round leaf spring pan plugs:

A round leaf spring is a helical wire spring machined from a flat reed and is mostly used for end and radial seals. It has a larger unit load and shorter deflection range than other types of springs. Therefore, it is more suitable for static and slow dynamic applications where friction and wear are not critical issues. Round leaf spring floodplugs are mostly used in vacuum, gas and cryogenic applications.

Oval filiform springs with flooded plugs:

The oval filament spring consists of a round wire machined into inclined coils for relatively constant load conditions over a wide range of deformations. Its unique design prevents the seal from damaging the spring due to excessive deformation.

Features

1. The sealing performance is not affected by insufficient lubrication at startup;

2. Effectively reduce wear and friction resistance;

3. Through the combination of different sealing materials and springs, different sealing forces can be displayed to meet the needs of a variety of applications Made of special CNC processing machine, no mold costs - especially suitable for a small number of diverse seals;

4. Chemical resistance and heat resistance is far better than the commonly used sealing rubber, dimensional stability, no volume expansion or contraction derived from the deterioration of sealing performance;

5. Compact structure, can be installed in the standard O-ring groove;

6. Significantly improve the sealing capacity and service life;

7. Seal grooves can be filled with any anti-pollution material (e.g. silicone) - but not for use in radiation environments;

APPLICATIONS

Flood seals are special seals developed for high-temperature corrosion, lubrication difficulties and low-friction applications. Different combinations of Teflon composites, high-grade engineering plastics and corrosion-resistant metal springs are available to meet the increasingly demanding and diverse needs of the industry, with typical applications such as:

1. Axial seals for loading and unloading arm rotary joints;

2. Seals for paint spraying valves or other paint spraying systems;

3. Seals for vacuum pumps;

4. Seals for beverage, water, beer filling equipment (e.g. filling valves) and food industry;

5. Seals for automotive and aerospace industries, such as power steering;

6. Seals for metering equipment (low friction, long life);

7. Seals for other process equipment or pressure vessels.

Seal Principle

PTFE leaf spring combination U-shaped seals (flooded seals) are made by appropriate spring tension coupled with system fluid pressure, which pushes the sealing lip out and gently presses against the metal surface to be sealed to form a very good sealing effect.
