Introduction of PTFE bellows

PTFE bellows, also known as PTFE bellows, F4 bellows, PTFE bellows, teflon bellows, Teflon bellows, Teflon bellows, Teflon bellows, etc., is a kind of tubing made of PTFE resin by specific process. Its milky white appearance is one of its typical identifying features.

PTFE bellows performance

Acid and alkali resistance, chemical reagents, high temperature resistance: PTFE bellows has very high resistance to acid, alkali, organic solvents and other chemical reagents, and can maintain stable performance in a wide temperature range of -200℃ to +260℃.

Self-lubrication: Due to the low coefficient of friction of PTFE material, PTFE bellows has good self-lubrication, which reduces the resistance when conveying fluids and prolongs the service life.

Easy processing and high transparency: PTFE corrugated pipe is easy to turn the edge processing, and the lowest refractive index in all plastics, with high transparency, easy to observe the internal fluid state.

Aging and corrosion resistance: PTFE bellows will not age in the ozone, sunlight and other harsh environments, in addition to molten alkali metals, fluoride media and higher than 300 ℃ acid, oxidizing agents, reducing agents and a variety of organic solvents outside the chemical substances have good resistance.

Unusual characteristics: PTFE bellows has a density of 2.16-2.20g/cm³, volume resistance >1x10^18 ohm-cm, surface resistance >2x10^13 ohm, arc resistance >165 seconds, no leakage, and water absorption <0.1%. These properties allow PTFE bellows to excel in specific applications.

Low coefficient of friction and surface non-adhesion: PTFE bellows has an extremely low coefficient of friction and the surface does not adhere to any known solid material, reducing resistance and wall adhesion problems during fluid transportation.

Non-combustibility: PTFE bellows will not burn in air and meets standards for use in locations with stringent fire safety requirements.

Characteristics of PTFE bellows

PTFE bellows demonstrates unrivaled chemical stability. The wall made of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is inert to virtually all chemicals and will not react with acids, alkalis, solvents, oxidizers, etc., ensuring long-term service in extremely corrosive environments.

PTFE bellows excellent sealing and lubrication non-stick for fluid transportation brings a double guarantee. PTFE bellows smooth inner wall and has a low coefficient of friction, can effectively reduce fluid resistance, reduce energy consumption, while avoiding the clogging problem caused by material adhesion. In addition, its electrical insulation performance is excellent, suitable for use in electrified environments.

In terms of structural design, PTFE bellows has a unique corrugated structure, which gives it good flexibility and bendability, and can easily cope with the complex layout and dynamic stress in piping systems. The design with flat ends simplifies the installation steps, and can be used with flanges, oil terminals, threads and other connection methods to realize fast and convenient system integration. Some models can also be customized with flanges and even externally braided steel wires to enhance mechanical strength and adapt to the needs of high-pressure or large-size applications.

Application of PTFE corrugated pipe range

PTFE bellows is widely used in chemical industry, machinery and other industries that have strict requirements on pipe performance. In the chemical field, it is often used to transport high-purity reagents, corrosive media and participate in heat exchange, steam piping and other key processes. In mechanical engineering, its high wear resistance and low friction characteristics make it ideal for hydraulic systems and pneumatic equipment.

Product specifications and customized services

PTFE bellows are available in a wide range of sizes, covering different internal diameters, wall thicknesses, lengths and corrugation pitches to meet the needs of different flow rates, pressures and installation spaces. At the same time, manufacturers usually have the ability to customize according to customer needs, whether it is a special size, connection or additional features (such as additional pressure reinforcement), can be personalized production, to ensure a perfect fit with the project site conditions.

Typical uses of PTFE bellows

Liquid crystal manufacturing device: In the precision liquid crystal manufacturing process, PTFE bellows can effectively isolate harmful substances, protect the equipment from corrosion, to ensure the stability of the production process and product quality.

Through-body single-ended light-emitting single-core fiber optic tubing: as a fiber optic protection sleeve, PTFE bellows of high transparency, low refractive index and non-polluting characteristics help to maintain the purity and efficiency of optical signal transmission.

Heat exchanger, vapor piping: In high temperature and high pressure environment, the heat, pressure and corrosion resistance of PTFE bellows ensures the long term stable operation of heat exchange system.

High purity reagent conveying pipes: In laboratories and pharmaceutical factories, PTFE bellows is used to convey high purity reagents, its non-adsorption avoids the decline of reagent purity and ensures the accuracy of experimental results.

Various corrosive media transportation pipes: Whether it is strong acid, strong alkali or other corrosive solvents, PTFE corrugated pipes can provide a safe and reliable transportation path.

Wire and cable sheathing and slot insulated pipe: In the electric power industry, PTFE bellows serves as sheathing for wire and cable, providing excellent electrical insulation and weather resistance to extend the service life of wire and cable; in oil submersible motor and air conditioning harness assemblies, it serves as a slot insulated pipe to protect the wires from environmental factors such as oil, water, dust, and so on.
