What is PCTFE ?
PCTFE is Polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), the Chinese name is Polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), also known as Polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), PCTFE has high hardness, low temperature resistance, excellent dimensional stability, mainly used for low temperature sealing, electrical, anticorrosion, radiation protection components.   
 
Material properties:   
1. PCTFE is a product of free radical initiated polymerization of chlorotrifluoroethylene with a linear backbone of mainly repeating a CF(cl)-CF unit. 
  
2. PCTFE is a crystalline polymer with a melting point of 425F and a density of 2.13g/cc (grams per cubic centimeter).   
 
3. PCTFE is inert to most active chemicals at room temperature, while it can be dissolved by a few solvents above 212 T. It can also be solubilized by some solvents, especially chlorinated solvents.PCTFE has excellent gas barrier ability, and the water vapor permeability of its membrane products is the lowest among all transparent plastic membranes. Its electrical properties are similar to those of other perfluoropolymers, but the dielectric constant (2.3-2. knife and loss factor are slightly higher, especially at high frequencies.
 
4. PCTFE can be made thick (1/8 inch) optically transparent parts.   
 
5. PCTFE can be melt processed, but due to the high viscosity of the melt, there is a tendency to degrade resulting in the performance of the processed product deterioration, so processing difficulties.   

6. PCTFE resin can be made into pellets for molding and extrusion. Film thickness of 0.001-0.010 inches, can also be made into rods and tubes.   
 
7. PCTFE resin marketed in the United States are 3M's Kel-FI brand, Daikin's Daiflon brand, AlliedlSignal's Acfon brand.

PCTFE Industry Application :

1. Polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) coatings
PCTFE coating has excellent chemical anticorrosion properties, can be coated on the surface of metal and other plasticized, quenching and cooling of the coating does not rupture. PCTFE coating can be used in suspension spraying, dipping, brushing or electrostatic spraying, according to the shape of the structure of the coated parts of the different choice of different coating processes, the first coated, sintered. It can be applied to reaction tanks, storage tanks, reaction towers, tubes, various containers, blowers, drums, etc.
 
2. Corrosion-resistant pumps, valves
Manufactured by PCTFE centrifugal pumps, hydraulic pumps have excellent corrosion resistance, can be used to transport solid particles, the temperature is not higher than 100 ℃ of any concentration of various strong acids, strong alkalis, strong oxidizing agents and other corrosive media, especially for the transport of hydrofluoric acid, the most to play its excellent performance, for the general rubber-lined pumps, stainless steel, glass, chlorinated polyether and other pumps not as good as the PCTFE is widely used in Anti-corrosive valves (ball valves, globe valves and diaphragm valves, etc.) production. 
 
3. Packaging materials (PCTFE film)
The United States Allied Chem company produces the trade name "Aclar" trifluoroethylene copolymer and homopolymer film is widely used in the role of water-sensitive products and parts of the packaging. For example, TekniPlex (USA) uses fluoropolymers from Allied Chem laminated with PVC and polyethylene in blister-type packaging for children's vitamins to prevent moisture and discoloration of the vitamins. 
 
Nitto Denko produces Nitoflon, a vapor-impermeable film made of PCTFE, which is used as an encapsulation material for packaging electrical components, protective layers for solar collectors and displays, and field-emitting components. 
 
4. Cable wrapping materials
ABUSLEME JULIO A, Italy et al. Cable wrapping is performed by adding nucleating agent with PCTFE as the main material. In the process of cable covering, it becomes a good insulating layer due to foaming, and this method can significantly improve the negative effects of using blowing agents, for example, the residual blowing agent in the cable insulation layer deteriorates the excellent dielectric properties of fluorine material itself. In addition, the coating process is greatly simplified because no blowing agent is used in the cable coating process. 
 
5. New plastics
Belgium METZ JEAN-YUES with vinylidene fluoride and chlorotrifluoroethylene co-polymerization into a new type of plastic, used in cables and optical fibers, outer packaging, pipe manufacturing, storage and transportation containers covered, agricultural or architectural single-layer or multi-layer film extrusion and so on. It not only has the excellent mechanical properties, high chemical stability and excellent ultraviolet resistance of vinylidene fluoride homopolymer, but also improves the shortcomings of vinylidene fluoride poor bendability. 
 
6. Stretching agent
Japan's Nakagawa Koutarou, etc. made of chlorotrifluoroethylene oligomer aqueous dispersion used for stretching agents and stretching pre-treatment agent, which compared with the traditional stretching agent has a small amount of environmental pollution, low toxicity, high safety, dispersion stability and other characteristics. 
 
7. Other
PCTFE excellent low-temperature resistance, can be used to make liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, liquid fuel sealing materials; the use of PCTFE mechanical stability and excellent optical properties, can be used for the manufacture of tubes and fittings with filament buttons, and transparent mirrors, optical instruments, etc.; its excellent electrical properties can be used to make plug-ins, printed circuit boards, etc., used in wet environments; but also can be used in the production of chlorofluorocarbon oil, and so on.
