What Is PA12 Nylon 12 Film PA12 (poly(dodecanelimide) film

October 14, 2024
PA12 film poly dodecanamide film high temperature low temperature super wear-resistant nylon 12

PA12 is nylon 12, also known as poly dodecalactam, poly laurolactam, is a long carbon chain nylon. Comprehensive performance is excellent, low water absorption, good low temperature resistance, good air tightness, good mechanical properties and electrical properties. With excellent mechanical properties and high durability as well as the highest possible reliability, its performance can be greatly improved by modification through chemical or physical methods. For example, through the addition of glass fiber material can achieve substantial improvement in water absorption and dimensional stability, and can improve the strength and toughness of the resin.

The thermal decomposition temperature of PA12 is greater than 350°C, and the long-term use temperature is 80-90°C. The airtightness of PA12 film is good, and the water vapor transmission rate is 9g/m2.

PA12 Film Sheet Preparation

PA12 film transparent, non-toxic, water vapor and gas (O2, N2, CO2) low permeability, stored in boiling water for a year performance unchanged, can be used for the production of film sheet, with which to protect and packaged food, with the aroma of preservation, resistance to steam sterilization and the advantages of good low-temperature sex. Nylon 12 has good adhesion with metal, when bonding food, the sealing value reaches 100%, high peel strength.

Small density

The relative density of Nylon 12 is only 1.01~1.03, which is the smallest among all engineering plastics, which has a certain effect on reducing the quality of automobiles and fuel consumption.

High melting point

The melting point of Nylon 12 is 172~178℃, which can fully meet the working temperature requirements of automobile fuel line and air brake line.

Low water absorption

The increase of methylene molecules in Nylon 12 greatly reduces the influence of hydrophilic groups, therefore, Nylon 12 has the lowest water absorption rate among nylon products.

High impact resistance

Nylon 12 is tested under -20℃ and -40℃ according to the standard, there is no fracture phenomenon, which fully meets the requirements for use. Nylon 12 has excellent impact resistance

Low temperature performance

Nylon 12 has the lowest brittleness temperature of -70°C, so it can be widely used for low-temperature resistant parts.

Low wear and low friction

Excellent low wear and low friction properties and self-lubricating properties, resulting in low friction noise.

Flexibility

The effect of plasticizers on the physical properties of nylon 12 is concentrated in the modulus of elasticity of the resin. There are three basic types of nylon 12 resins, and the main difference between them is the flexibility that results from the plasticizer content. As the content of the extractable component of the plasticizer increases, the elastic modulus of the resin decreases.
