What is called PPO?
PPO, Chinese name is called polyphenylene ether; English name: PPO (Polyphenylene Oxide), also called PPE (Polypheylene ether).
PPO is one of the world's top five general-purpose engineering plastics, with hardness, high temperature resistance, flame retardant, higher strength electrical properties of high quality and other characteristics. In addition, Polypheylene ether is also wear-resistant, non-toxic, pollution-resistant, etc. PPO's thermal conductivity and dielectric loss is one of the smallest varieties of engineering plastics, virtually impervious to temperature, temperature hazards, suitable for low, medium and high-frequency static electric field industry.
What are the characteristics of PPO?
(A) Low density
Relative density of 1.08g/cm3, in the engineering plastics is very low.
(ii) Good flame retardant properties
Flame retardant grade 29, for self-interested raw materials. Do not need to add halogen bulbs halogen-free flame retardant, add the amount of phosphorus-containing class halogen-free flame retardant can achieve UL94 specifications to ensure that V2, V1, V0, 5VB, 5VA and other flame retardant grade.
(C) The least water absorption
In the general temperature category, the molecular thermal movement is less, there is no large hydrophilic group in the carbon chain, the dipole moment does not appear to be divided into poles, and the water resistance is very good. Especially in hot water for a long time in the soaking of its physical properties are still very little reduction.
(D) High temperature resistance
Glass transition temperature 211 ℃, melting point 268 ℃, thermal expansion temperature can reach 80-170 ℃. In a long period of high temperature conditions, the structure of the mechanical properties are basically unchanged.
(E) Excellent electrical properties (ranked first in general engineering plastics)
Relative dielectric constant: 2.6-2.8;
Electrification relative dielectric constant 0.008-0.0042.
PPO used in what areas?
1.Photovoltaic power generation in the photovoltaic junction box, PPO is the mainstream raw materials. As a component of the solar cell module, photovoltaic junction box must be applied in harsh, disparate living environment climate conditions. And the requirements of photovoltaic connectors have a high level of electrical safety and security protection performance, the use of the term needs to be 25 years and above.
PPO used in photovoltaic junction box, the load variant temperature can reach about 190 ℃, aging temperature of -170 ℃.
2.Automotive because of the low solute circulation, practical applications use modified polyphenylene ether (MPPO), the key types of PPO/PA alloys, PPO/
HIPS alloys, PPO/
PP alloys and so on.
PPO/PA alloy has better circulation, ductility, chemical resistance and paintability, the key to the production of the outside of the body, bumpers and other body parts and hubcaps, side panels, front fender, air intake and other accessories, and its fuse box, radio frequency connectors and other electrical parts.
PPO/HIPS alloy has good heat resistance, low shrinkage, low water absorption and low stress relaxation in high temperature environment; it can maintain high tensile and flexural strength at high temperature; it maintains excellent performance of electrical equipment in a wide range of temperatures, ambient humidity and number of transformations; and it maintains good performance after several treatments.
