What Are The Application Fields of PAI Torlon?

February 23, 2024

PAI Materials is a high-performance plastic that is one of the industry pioneers offering one of the highest performance, melt-processable thermoplastics. Torran is a high-strength, high-temperature (maximum temperature of 500°C) polymer that is injection molded and oven "cured" to produce thermoset polymers with excellent bearing properties. Toren has the highest tensile strength of any non-filled injection molding material.

PAI Torlon is the best choice for customized applications in severe service conditions.

Highest level of abrasion resistance, low friction, high compressive strength, low creep under load, excellent performance at high temperatures, maintains toughness and impact strength at low temperatures, resistant to acids and aggressive chemicals, low compressive strength, low compressive strength, excellent electrical insulator, high dielectric constant.

PAI TORLON is an incredibly versatile material used in many areas where components need to be able to withstand extreme temperatures, high pressures, corrosion and wear. TORUN Inhalable Pai is one of the very few materials that meets all of these requirements. It has proven itself in a wide range of demanding applications in many industries: aerospace, vacuum technology, semiconductors, medical equipment, cryogenics, electrical engineering, electronics and automotive. Good compressive properties, coupled with creep and fatigue properties, make TORUN A-seal materials ideal for sealing rings, hydraulic hoses, brake tappets, check balls, thrust washers and compressor plates.

PAI part

Multi-purpose material resistant to high temperatures, high pressures, corrosion and wear - what are the areas of application for PAI Torlon?

Aerospace: Lightweight aerospace fasteners manufactured by Torlanan improve fuel efficiency and eliminate problems associated with standard metal parts. Other applications include thermal isolators, sector gears, bushings and screws.

Automotive: Torlon is a natural choice for automotive applications where high heat, pressure, and friction are a key. Applications include transmission components, hydraulic ring seals, axial thrust bearings and inspection balls for automotive transmissions.

Oil & Gas: Torlon specializes in extreme environments and is the best material for handling the high pressure, high temperature, abrasive and salt water environments involved in deep water drilling. Oil and gas applications include seals and backup rings, downhole guides, labyrinth seals, bearings and bushings.

Semiconductors: Because Torlon is produced in thermochemical and gaseous environments that exclude metals and other plastics, it is widely used throughout the semiconductor industry. Typical applications include precision test interfaces and nests for high-speed device test equipment, wafer handling parts, part carriers, bearing surfaces, and probes, nests and collars for plasma etching.

Electrical and Electronics: Torlon is recognized for its excellent electrical properties, which is why it is often used for electrical connectors and insulators. It's a great choice where you need high dielectric strength, electrical insulation, and outstanding impact strength. Typical applications include connectors, switches and relays.
