UHMWPE parts processing technology
1.Sintering molding process
Choose powder resin, molecular weight is not restricted; powder resin is pressed into various shapes of blanks (such as rods, plates, wheels, sets, etc.), the pressure is 42MPa, holding time is 30 ~ 90 seconds, the thermal expansion and contraction rate of the mold is 1 ~ 3%; and then sintered at 250 ~ 300 ℃, the sintering time according to the thickness of the product is determined to be 1 hour / 10mino
2. Extrusion molding process
UHMWPE resin should be used with LDPE, LCP or additives blended to improve fluidity. Equipment selection of plunger type or the same direction twin-screw extruder to avoid the shortcomings of low friction coefficient, the material is easy to slip. Extrusion temperature of 180 ~ 200 ℃, screw speed 10 ~ 15R / min; single-screw extruder can also be used for simple shaped products, but the need to increase the processing of auxiliary equipment, increase motor power.
3. Injection molding process
Should also be used with LDPE, LCP or additives co-mingled UHMWPE resin; injection molding machine screws and molds need to be improved. Injection pressure of 12OMPa or more, screw speed 40 ~ 60r/min, barrel temperature 180 ~ 220 ℃, mold temperature 85 ~ 110 ℃.
4. Extrude a pressure molding
Extrude the molten billet first, and then add the mold to make the required products.
Types of modification methods for UHMWPE parts
1.Lubricant modification
Adding lubricant in UHMWPE can improve its processing performance, but the amount added should not be too much, otherwise the performance of UHMWPE will be greatly reduced.
2. Liquid crystal polymer in-situ compounding technology
Add appropriate ratio of LCP and specific additives in UHMWPE, after mixing evenly, it can be pelletized smoothly by general-purpose single-screw extruder.
3.Other modification
Filling modification of UHMWPE with different fillers can achieve the effect of improving hardness, flame retardancy, heat resistance, shrinkage and abrasion resistance, reduce friction factor, reduce costs and so on. Fillers are generally treated with silane, the amount should not exceed 20%. In addition, the modification of UHMWPE with layered inorganic nano-materials by the insertion method technology can achieve a variety of modification effects such as enhancement. UHMWPE can also be modified by grafting, such as solid-phase grafting, solution grafting, suspension grafting, etc., in order to solve the problems related to interfacial compatibility.
