The difference between POM material and nylon material

The natural color of the dragon is ivory, and the natural color of POM is white.
Polyoxymethylene plastic is another excellent resin variety developed after nylon, with excellent comprehensive properties.
Polyoxymethylene has good resistance to solvents, oils, weak acids and weak alkalis. Polyoxymethylene has high hardness and rigidity, high resistance to creep and stress relaxation, excellent wear resistance, self-lubrication, and fatigue
The scientific name of polyoxymethylene polyoxymethylene (POM)
Polyoxymethylene is a linear polymer with no side chains, high density and high crystallinity, and has excellent comprehensive properties. The tensile strength of polyoxymethylene can reach 70MPa, can be used for a long time at 104℃, the embrittlement temperature is -40℃, and the water absorption is small. However, polyoxymethylene has poor thermal stability and poor weather resistance, and it will age after long-term exposure to the atmosphere.
The mechanical properties of polyoxymethylene are quite good. It has high strength and elastic modulus, low friction coefficient and good wear resistance. Polyoxymethylene also has a high degree of resistance to creep and stress relaxation.
Polyoxymethylene has good dimensional stability and low water absorption, so the influence of water absorption on its mechanical properties can be ignored. Polyoxymethylene has good dielectric properties. In a wide frequency and temperature range, its dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent change very little.
Polyoxymethylene has poor heat resistance and is easy to degrade and release aldehyde at molding temperature. Generally, stabilizers are added during granulation. If it is not stressed, polyoxymethylene can be used at 140°C for short-term use, and its long-term use temperature is 85°C.

Polyoxymethylene has poor weather resistance, and its general performance will decline after atmospheric aging. But its chemical stability is very superior, especially for organic solvents, its dimensional changes and mechanical properties are little reduced. But it has poor corrosion resistance to strong acids and strong oxidants such as nitric acid and sulfuric acid
