Radel® PPSU material is used in large-scale surgical instrument sterilization trays

HONY's Radel® PPSU resin successfully optimized Legacy Medical Solutions' large-format sterilization trays for surgical instruments. Legacy Medical Solutions Resins selected Radel® PPSU (Polyphenylsulfone) to improve its tray design, production and application because of the material's excellent strength-to-weight ratio and its ability to withstand repeated sterilization cycles and autoclaves Has the ability to withstand strong alkaline cleaners.

Legacy Medical Solutions' unique sterilization tray measures 59.7 cm long, 38.1 cm wide, and 14.2 cm high, and consists of a Radel® PPSU thermoformed transparent cover and an opaque chassis secured with metal clamps. The transparent lid allows easy viewing of the tray interior, while the chassis weighs 50% less than finished products made from traditional anodized aluminum materials, while featuring larger disinfection vents. Additionally, sterilization trays made with Radel® PPSU resin offer excellent impact resistance, flexibility, and chemical resistance. What's more, the material is suitable for various sterilization methods, including autoclaving, and its shape can always maintain excellent toughness and aesthetics even after prolonged sterilization at temperatures up to 138 °C (280 °F ) .
