A treasure at the heart of automotive transmission and braking systems - the heart of polyamideimide PAI gearboxes
Are you familiar with the mysterious material polyamideimide (PAI)? It is the heart of the automotive transmission and braking system! It provides the key component for the high-performance double concentric strut pump (dCSC), which forms the solid foundation of the dual-clutch transmission.
The heart of this gearbox is the concentric slave cylinder, which is located around the drive shaft and is in direct contact with the clutch. It is in direct contact with the clutch. It carries a great deal of pressure every time the car shifts gears. The sealing ring made of PAI material plays an important role in ensuring the stable operation of the gearbox during its lifetime.
The sealing ring made of PAI material is cleverly designed with a small cross-section and a large diameter, making it flexible and easy to assemble. It not only resists transmission fluids and high temperatures, but also maintains consistent contact with the cylinder walls, ensuring clean operation and minimizing friction in the transmission's high-cycle, high-pressure environment.
Even more amazing, 30% carbon fiber-reinforced PAI polyamideimide is used in the locking mechanism to maintain precise radial positioning within the dCSC throughout the transmission's life cycle. Exhibiting extremely low wear, it withstands millions of clutch torsional excitation cycles. This PAI material grade maintains its excellent wear resistance in dry and lubricated environments. And the high-strength grade even maintains its toughness, strength and stiffness at temperatures up to 275°C. The grade has a very high resistance to chemicals. Its broad chemical resistance is amazing, including strong acids and most organics.
In addition, the grades have very good lubricity and fatigue resistance, enabling the locking mechanism to withstand millions of load cycles from clutch torsional excitation. The PAI family of materials combines the performance of thermoset polyamideimides with the melt processing advantages of thermoplastics, and the wear-resistant grades can be used in both dry and lubricated environments. High-strength grades maintain their toughness, strength and stiffness at temperatures up to 527°F (275°C). Their broad chemical resistance includes strong acids and most organics.
