PEEK, Acetal, Nylon, teflon, Torlon, vespel, PP , PU, PVC, the complete list of plastics is finally complete
In mechanical design, often used plastics are Peek, Acetal, Nylon, Teflon, Vespel, PVC, PP, PET, PU and so on.
For example, PEEK is often used as a sliding contact surface material, and PU, PVC, etc. are often used as mechanical stoppers.
For example, Vespel is used as a heat insulation material, Nylon is used as a tie or a sliding support, and so on.
Of course, there are also Teflon to do electrical parts of the insulation structure, with Acetal to do some structural parts and wiring clips, and so on.
In fact, plastics can be found everywhere in life.
For example, you buy a bottle of Nongfusanquan, unscrew the lid, you will find written inside the "02" characters, in fact, it is that it is made of hdpe, recyclable.
HDPE, or High Density Polyethylene, is very safe and will not spread any chemicals into your food or drink.
Things made from this plastic also include various bottles.
Things like Hafez shampoo bottles, Blue Moon laundry detergent bottles, Lipitor detergent bottles, Schwarzkopf body wash and hand sanitizer bottles, Schwarzkopf hair conditioner bottles, and so on, are made from HDPE.
Another example is the Green Tea bottle, which also has "1" PET written on it, indicating that the bottle is made of PET material.
In fact, we found that the bottle of Centennial Mountain mineral water, Nongfushanquan mineral water bottle, a brand of floral water bottle, mouthwash bottle, Willowood shower gel bottle, Ivibe hand sanitizer bottle, etc. is also made of PET, (PET = PETE).
Observe further and you'll see that some plastic cups for drinking water are labeled Other (Class 7) on the body and PP on the lid, indicating that the lid is made of PP material.
There is also the Midea rice cooker, and you find that the plastic steam compartment is also made of PP material.

Classification of plastics
From the point of view of chemical structure and process characteristics, plastics can be broadly categorized into four groups: thermoplastics and thermosets, elastomers, composites and so on.
Several classifications of plastics: thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, composites

Comparison of thermoset and thermoplastic characteristics
Thermoplastic
As the name implies, thermoplasticity refers to the property of being able to be shaped by heat.
The most obvious characteristic of thermoplastics is that they soften and melt when heated and solidify when cooled; this process of melting and solidifying by heating and cooling can be repeated.
The ability of thermoplastics to re-melt reversibly is due to the fact that the molecular structure is not three-dimensionally cross-linked and the forces connecting the thermoplastic chains are low.
This is why thermoplastics are easy to mold, such as the use of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in electrical wiring.
Of course, because they tend to deform when heated, thermoplastics are not as rigid as thermosets.
Depending on their structure, thermoplastics can be subdivided into two distinct subgroups: amorphous and partially crystalline thermoplastics.

Thermoset Plastics (Thermoset)
A thermoset is a plastic that does not allow further deformation or molding after three-dimensional chemical cross-linking.
It is composed of materials with a low relative molecular mass that are hardened by heat or the chemical reaction of a hardening agent to become an insoluble plastic with a three-dimensional network molecular structure.
Thus, unlike thermoplastics, its melting and curing process is irreversible, and once hardened, it can be unmeltable again.
Many thermoset plastics are also used in the manufacture of aircraft parts, tires, and automotive parts.
The Plastic Pyramid
Of course, in terms of material properties, plastics can be further divided into general-purpose plastics and engineering plastics, and engineering plastics can be further divided into general engineering plastics, advanced engineering plastics and super engineering plastics.
