In the milling process of PEEK material, the following points need to be noted. First of all, the feed volume should be small, this is because the cutting resistance of PEEK material is large, if the feed volume is too large, it will lead to excessive cutting heat, which will make the product surface discolored and yellow. Secondly, the coolant should be sufficient to reduce the cutting temperature, reduce thermal deformation, and also prevent tool wear.

When choosing milling cutters, you should try to use sharp end mills with a large rake angle and good chip removal. A large rake angle can reduce cutting resistance, and good chip removal can ensure smooth cutting and avoid the generation of chip tumors. In addition, the sharpness of the end mill also needs to be considered, because a sharp tool can cut the material better, reduce the cutting force, and reduce heat generation.


When clamping, the deformation of PEEK products after machining should be fully considered. Due to the large coefficient of thermal expansion of PEEK material, it is necessary to appropriately control the clamping force to avoid deformation of the workpiece due to excessive clamping force. At the same time, the workpiece clamping method also needs to be reasonably selected to ensure that the workpiece will not be deformed due to uneven force during processing.
