Combustion without toxic gases: PEEK and many organic materials are the same, PEEK mainly in the pyrolysis process to produce carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, the use of the British aircraft test standard BSS 7239 can be detected at very low concentrations of toxic gases escaping, this test process requires the complete combustion of 100 grams of samples in a cubic meter of space, and then analyze the toxic gases produced therein. The Toxicity Index, defined as the ratio of the concentration of toxic gases produced under normal conditions to a potentially lethal dose over a 30 minute period, was 0.22 for the PEEK and no acidic gases were detected.
