1. PEEK can withstand almost any chemical except fuming concentrated sulfuric acid, and it can still maintain good chemical stability even at higher temperatures. It has strong chemical corrosion resistance and is usually used to manufacture parts that work under harsh environmental conditions or that need to withstand frequent disinfection (such as chemical storage tanks, medical devices that need to be sterilized with strong oxidant hydrogen peroxide).

Although PEEK polymer has been widely considered as a material that can withstand extremely strong chemical corrosion, of course, whether PEEK can withstand a certain corrosive medium and the crystallinity of PEEK parts, residual internal stress and contact with parts The temperature and concentration of the medium are also related, please refer to the following table for details (because the file is relatively large, please download and view):

3. The chemical corrosion resistance of PEEK is divided into the following three categories:

A: No erosion, little or no absorption;

B: Slightly erosive, suitability depends on application;

C: Severely corrosive, cannot be used where these chemicals are present.

The appendix contains detailed performance data of PEEK's resistance to various solvents, which can be divided into the following categories:

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to various alkalis;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to various alcohols;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to various aldehydes and ketones;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to various esters;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to various ethers;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to various organic chlorides;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to various hydrocarbons;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to various inorganic reagents;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to other reagents;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to organic nitrogen compounds;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to phenol;

◇ Corrosion resistance of PEEK polymer to sulfide.
