Meldin® 7001, unfilled series

Thermoset polyimide Meldin® 7001 is our unfilled base resin. This series offers maximum mechanical properties and high chemical resistance.

Meldin® 7001 is ideal for electrical and thermal insulation applications.

Meldin® 7001 has better ductility than ceramics and is lighter than metals, making it an ideal choice for aerospace and other applications that require metal replacement.

The combination of these properties makes Meldin® 7001 an ideal material for semiconductor applications.

Meldin® 7001, combined with these properties, makes the material ideal for semiconductor applications, replacing aluminum, ceramics and other high-performance materials.

Meldin® 7003

Melidn® 7003 contains 1.5% molybdenum disulfide as a self-lubricating filler and is suitable for use in vacuum or very dry applications.

self-lubricating filler for wear-resistant applications operating in vacuum or very dry environments.

Meldin® 7211, the lowest friction series

Meldin® 7211 contains 10 % PTFE and 1.5 % graphite fillers.

and 1.5 percent graphite fillers to provide the lowest coefficient of friction.

coefficient of friction.

Meldin® 7021, self-lubricating series

Our self-lubricating series Meldin® 7021 with 1.5% graphite filler.

Meldin® 7021 has a low coefficient of friction and high heat resistance (up to 900°F [482°C]).

900°F [482°C]), Meldin® 7021 offers our customers the best possible solution for their high-temperature bearings, seals, thrust washers and other low-wear applications.

Meldin® 7022

The Meldin® 7022 series contains a 40% graphite filler that provides an additional graphite filler to provide additional dimensional stability at high temperatures. It also has the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion compared to any other material in the Meldin® series.

Meldin® Series 7022 also has the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion compared to any other material in the Meldin® Series.

Color Gold Black Black Black Black
Characteristics Key highlights Thermal stability, high strength, dielectric insulator, minimal outgassing in vacuum, ductile, cryo to 600°F continuous. Very low friction and best wear properties for seals and bearings, thrust washers, piston rings. Excellent strength at high temps. Best temperature stability and lowest thermal expansion rate of all Meldin® grades. Excellent high temperature structural option for metals. Excellent bearing grade up to 300°F, k factor drops above that and 7021 is better wearing option above 300°F. Very low friction. Best for service in vacuum and in extreme dry conditions. Commonly used as seals, seats, bearings, in space applications.
