Torlon® 5530 (30% glass fiber filled polyamideimide) is a compression molded version of MCAM-Quadrant's Solvay Torlon 5030 PAI injection molding resin. The compression molding process results in random dispersion of the glass fibers, resulting in tremendous dimensional stability in all directions (compared to the unidirectional glass fiber flow produced through injection molding and extrusion). In addition to strength and dimensional stability, Torlon® 5530 is electrically insulating with a surface resistivity of > 10- 13 ohm/sq. It has excellent dielectric strength - over 800 volts/mil. It offers superior radiation resistance to 10 x 9 rads*. Tight tolerance parts manufactured by Torlon 5530 include IC test sockets, processor and nested nozzle insulators, CVT clutch rollers, fasteners, ignition cups and housings, gears, splines, hydraulic poppet valves, and many other structural and dynamic
