HONYPLAS®Polyetherimide PEI sheet belongs to non-crystalline plastic. It is a kind of amorphous high-performance polymer, which is made of engineering plastic made of amorphous PEI (polyetherimide) through extrusion machine at high temperature. The commonly used PEI sheet is made from the raw material of GE (trade name Ultem) in the U.S. GE started to research and develop PEI in 1972.PEI due to its excellent thermal and electrical properties, creep resistance, resistance to hydrolysis, dimensional stability than aluminum alloy with insulation, high temperature resistance (can work continuously at high temperature 150 ° C for a long time), good dimensional stability and other advantages. Now it has been widely used in aerospace, electronic and electrical appliances, medical, automotive transportation and other fields. In addition, PEI has great potential for application in Internet devices; if the glass fiber-reinforced PEI modification has better tensile strength and rigidity, then the PEI with increased glass fiber will also be widely used in food industry parts.POM tube

Main properties PA tube pipe
(1 ) PEI is a thermoplastic engineering resin with excellent stability performance
(2 ) An outstanding property of PEI resin is its ability to withstand high temperatures for extended periods of time. This high heat resistance, combined with excellent flammability and UL laboratory approval, makes PEI resin meet the demanding requirements of high temperature applications.
(3) (Ductility) PEI resin not only has unparalleled combination of high strength and high modulus properties, it also has outstanding ductility. Its yield elongation allows it to be freely combined with a variety of easy-to-assemble snap-fit designs. Even with only 10% glass fiber reinforcement, PEI 2100 resin can maintain ductility in the temperature range from below zero to 200°C.
(4) (Impact strength) PEI 1000 resin has excellent practical impact resistance. Given that PEI resins display notch sensitivity, it is recommended that standard design principles be observed. PEI AT*100 resins are designed for applications requiring high impact performance. The notched Izod impact of this series can reach 15km/mз.
(5) (Fatigue resistance) For cyclic loading or oscillating parts, fatigue is a lifelong design consideration.
(6) (Creep behavior) When considering the mechanical properties of any thermoplastic, the designer must recognize the effects of temperature, stress level and load duration on material performance. PEI resins exhibit excellent creep resistance even at temperatures and stress levels that preclude the use of many other thermoplastics.
(7) PEI resins have excellent electrical properties and are stable over a wide range of environmental conditions. This, coupled with the thermal and mechanical properties, makes PEI resins ideal for demanding electronic and electrical applications.
(8) (Relative Dielectric Constant) While applications may require either high or low absolute values of relative dielectric constant, what is important is that these values remain stable over the entire range of service temperatures and/or frequencies.
It has the best heat resistance and dimensional stability, as well as chemical resistance, flame resistance, electrical properties, high strength, and high rigidity. It has not only high mechanical performance, but also excellent heat and chemical stability (continuous use temperature about 181 ℃), high dimensional stability and creep strength. It has high strength, high rigidity, wear resistance and dimensional stability at high temperatures. It has inherent flame retardancy and low smoke without adding any additives, with an oxygen index of 46% and a combustion rating of UL94-V-0.
plastic pipe The density of PEI board is 1.38~1.42g/cm3, glass transition temperature is 215℃, heat deflection temperature is 198~208℃, and it can be used for a long time at 160~180℃, and the maximum intermittent use temperature is 210℃. PEI has excellent mechanical strength, electrical insulation performance, radiation resistance, high and low temperature resistance and fatigue resistance and molding processability; adding glass fiber, carbon fiber or other fillers can achieve reinforcement, The addition of glass fibers, carbon fibers or other fillers can be added to enhance the modified purpose in its unique torsional strength among thermoplastics, making it a cheap alternative to small steel cutting parts
Main application of PEI
1、Communication field
PEI material is used as optical fiber connector for optical communication, optical transceiver module optical component, RF connector insulator, base station cavity filter plastic cavity, filter tuning screw, antenna internal fixing screw, ring phase shifter bracket, etc. In addition, foamed PEI material has advantages in millimeter wave antenna cover. It can also be used as the impeller of vacuum pump which is resistant to high temperature lubrication erosion, the ground glass joint (bearing interface) of the distiller operating at 180℃, the reflector of non-illuminated anti-fog lamp.
2、Aerospace
PEI can be used in aerospace, such as air and fuel valves, food tray containers, steering wheels, internal cladding and various structural components; PEI one-way tape available seat frames and luggage, etc.
3、Automotive
PEI can be used in automotive control valves, fuel pumps, lights, LIDAR, fenders and other components, PEI film can be used as a high-temperature dielectric film for capacitors. Can be used to manufacture high-temperature connectors, high-power lights, indicators, sensors to control the temperature of the outside of the car cabin and sensors to control the air and fuel mixture.
4、Medical field
PEI can be used in medical equipment. Such as ventilators, anesthesia machines, sterilization trays, surgical guides, pipettes and laboratory animal cages.
PEI profiles and tubes are mainly used in cutting-edge or defense fields such as aerospace. Lightweight is an important direction to improve the combat performance of weapons and equipment. the light weight characteristics of PEI determine that PEI is an essential structural material for the production of spacecraft, military aircraft, missiles, high mobility combat vehicles, ships, therefore, vigorously develop PEI applications around the need for national defense modernization. In addition to the advantage of light weight, PEI has many functional characteristics to be developed and utilized: PEI can be flame retardant, used as automotive, electronic and electrical components have obvious protection; PEI material lamps or electronic system heat sink has good heat dissipation performance, long service life; PEI insulation performance is good, used in computers, communications equipment, can be anti-static, reduce the harm of static electricity on the human body.
Advantages and disadvantages of PEI
1、Advantages of PEI:
(1) Good thermal stability, glass transition temperature of 217℃, long-term use temperature up to 170℃;
(2) excellent dimensional stability, low and stable coefficient of linear thermal expansion over a wide temperature range, so the ambient temperature has little effect on the size, no deformation when used at higher temperatures and under load, and low creep sensitivity;
(3) Excellent mechanical strength and modulus;
(4) Outstanding electrical properties, which remain essentially constant over a wide range of temperatures (-40°C to 150°C) and frequencies, with stable dielectric constants and dielectric losses;
(5) Excellent infrared light transmission and high refractive index;
(6) Natural flame retardant and very low smoke emission;
(7) Excellent radiation resistance and chemical resistance;
(8) Unique plating ability;
(9) good molding and processing properties, low melt viscosity and high fluidity, can be molded with traditional thermoplastic melt processing technology and equipment.
